Tennis fans watching the Australian Open witnessed a lot of big WTF moments with the draw, as top seeds went out earlier than predicted to unexpected conquerors. But in a two-week tournament, there are so many things to think “WTF?” over, and it’s often written all over the players’ faces. We decided to revisit the AO14 and all the frustrations it can conjure, for tennis pros and spectators alike.

First, and probably most common, is that exasperated “WTF was that?” from the players themselves–when they hit a shot long, or wide, or so far long and wide it lands on another court…

It’s not always negative, though. Sometimes there’s a “WTF, did that go IN?” moment on the player’s own shot.

Roger himself can be quite stoic during a match, but as he fought through another Fedal match at the Australian Open, we could hear the “Ugggghhh” in this “WTFuuuuu…”

Even though he won, Rafa struggled with many “WTF was that?” times of his own…

After their epic battles, the winners then had to face the gauntlet of “fun” Australian Open post-match interviews. Though most queries were harmless, many players nonetheless had some some suspicious, “WTF curve ball are you going to throw me next?” expressions on their faces.
