Since it came from the same practice session, we thought this photo of Mirka and Paul would make a nice companion shot to our recent black and white pictures post: The Beauty of Tennis Series — Roger Federer. It was unusual to see the missus at one of the Maestro’s practice sessions in Cincy, so fans were quite excited to see the power couple together on court.

Like her husband, Mrs. Federer has a confident poise and–when called for–a stoic demeanor. While there were some smiles shared on breaks, Roger and his wife appeared to be all business once the ball-striking began. After Fed had struggled for a good chunk of the year in 2013, the fans in attendance were hoping Mirka would have some sage words of wisdom again, as she did back in ’11.

Mirka was dressed simply in a Nike tee, shorts, and flip-flops, her hair pulled into a casual ponytail. But those mirrored shades added a whole ‘nother level of cool, and this nonchalant-but-somehow-gripping turn to the camera made it perfect for our latest Pic of the Day.
