Shirtless Frenchmen — Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut

Pierre-Hugues Herbert is into the final at Winston-Salem, after taking out Aljaz Bedene (who had just beaten Gilles Simon in three), Pablo Carreño-Busta, and American Stevie Johnson. We couldn’t help feeling like that had something to do with this powerful shirtless practice the young Frenchman had with Nicolas Mahut in Cincy the week before.

After all, this year Nicolas Mahut got a Wildcard into Wimbledon, and in the weeks leading up to it won a second singles title in Den Bosch and a doubles title in Queens. Herbert is similarly celebrating his US Open WC by getting to a hard court final beforehand. So let’s hope that all of that combined sexiness on the steamy courts in Cincy had some sort of winning osmosis effect.
