Golubev was determined to be the hero of the weekend, and he held fast on serve, marching through the first set on pace with Federer…

But things got off to a good start…

     
 
The Fed Intensity was set to 11 for his bagel TB victory…

     
 
And we decided maybe TBs weren’t such a bad thing after all. Rog stormed ahead to win the next set 6-2, but despite the scoreline, it was a gritty battle that required lots of creativity and shouting in three languages.

 
Golubev continued to fight hard. Rog broke for a 3-1 lead…then got broken back for 3-2.


When the Swiss man finally prevailed at 6-3 in the 3rd, his joy was obvious…

There was much rejoicing from the Swiss team as they moved on to the semifinals!
