The Night Session Webcast 24 — Australian Open 2019 and Other Random Crap
That’s right, we know how to sell you on our (NSFW) NIGHT SESSION webcast. You totally want to know what we mean by “random crap.” It could involve communal ice baths, Andy Murray’s “crotchal region”, or cringe-inducing couple’s Instagrams.
In fact, it DOES involve all of those things, and so much more, including shady speeches, botched entrances, and a porny TV show we would totally watch while wearing our “Call me Sascha Not Sascha” matching T-shirts.
Intrigued? We hope so! The webcast is here, and just below it are the time stamps in case you want to jump right to your favorite topics — or for helping you find your place later! There are also some follow-up links to things we mention in the podcast for your further info & entertainment!
Let us know how you liked it! Drop a comment here or visit us @TennisInsideOut on Twitter!

Time Stamps for The Night Session Webcast 24 — Australian Open 2019 Edition
0:01 Our AO results round-up, including everything from Naomi winning on both tennis and fashion fronts, to Nole and Rafa exchanging shade in the trophy ceremony, to Dylan Alcott’s inspirational awesomeness,* to Pierre-Hugues Herbert’s cute brother, the “Serena Swivel,” a strangely random gondola, and more!
46:27 Val dives deep into the BIG coaching story of the AO, with Slam champ Amelie Mauresmo now working with ambitious Frenchie Lucas Pouille.* Because this is the Night Session, this leads to a point-counterpoint session on opposite-sex communal ice baths. Dive in to the icy cold awkwardness with us!
1:02:34 REALLY!?! with Courtney and Valerie, our new riff on Seth Meyers’ and Amy Poehler’s genius set-up.* We go all-in on Daniel Evans’ and Jack Sock’s recent disparaging comments about dudes who make doubles a career. THERE ARE FLAMES HERE, people, FLAMES!
1:08:06 AUSSIE, AUSSIE, AUSSIE … OY! OY VEY! We try to untangle the melodramatic mess that is Aussie men’s tennis* and….well…. *insert helpless shrug emoji here* There’s some crazy dancing and “old people” fighting to help cleanse the palate afterwards.
1:29:23 In Defense of Danielle Collins. Val introduces listeners to the background* and amusing social media flirtations of the controversial American player, and rants a bit about the judgypants ways of tennis Twitter.
1:41:20 Ferru gets a dangerous retirement send-off and Nick Kyrgios ruins a perfectly good joke.
1:46:26 INSTAGOODNESS — Andy Murray’s glorious “crotchal region” and Courtney’s too verklempt to mention the “R” word, Elina and Gael* and all the joy and Ick Factor of tennis couples on Twitter, Denis Shapovalov’s second career and oh, so much more!!
2:23:00 In fitting with a kind of odd AO, we sign off in rather an odd mood. But Fed Fans will enjoy the end title page.
