30 Days ‘Til Cincy — Philipp Kohlschreiber
It’s that time of year again! Thirty days until TennisInsideOut.com begins coverage of our hometown Slam, the Western and Southern Open, Cincinnati Masters. We thought it would be fun to supply a daily countdown on the site, sharing never-before-seen pics and stories from previous Cincy tournaments.
We begin with Round 1 of last year, and a little love for Germany’s Philipp Kohlschreiber. He nabbed a three-set victory over Frenchman Jeremy Chardy out on Grandstand Court, and we photographed the winning serve.
Kohli did a crowd-pleasing on-court interview, flashing a little skin as well as flexing his comedic muscles.
He also had fun hitting the autographed balls into the crowd, waiting excitedly to see where each one landed.
Sadly, Kohlschreiber went out in the next round, losing a tough 7-6(4) 6-7(4) 6-7(4) battle to eventual finalist David Ferrer.
