Sam Stosur — Pic of the Day 7
The thing I loved most about Sam Stosur’s dress for the Cincinnati Masters in 2012 was that the criss-cross back highlighted her incredible physique. I chose this shot as Pic of the Day because of the way it captures both the sexy styling of the outfit and those rippling back and shoulder muscles in action.
The Aussie tennis player is one of the most powerful women on the court, and during her match with the formidable Venus Williams, the rallies and winners were often a bit terrifying in their intensity. Sam’s backhand slice even has serious speed, and you can see in the photo how much strength is going into that forehand.
Sam has said that in her “down time” that she prefers to do “any physical activity that isn’t tennis.” This includes swimming, boxing, and kayaking, which certainly help her build that upper body strength, as well as stamina and reflexes. She describes herself as a “terrible swimmer,” but we’re guessing she means in comparison to someone like Missy Franklin.
