19 Days ‘Til Cincy — Sam Stosur
It’s 19 days ’til Cincy and we’re giving some love to Samantha Stosur. A former USO champ, she’s powerful and quick on the hard courts and a hell of a lot of fun to watch. We here at TennisInsideOut.com are always surprised she doesn’t win more big matches; she’s got skill, is made of muscle, and well…she’s just kind of a badass out there.

These photos are from Sammy’s first match against American Varvara Lepchenko, which she won at 6-2, 7-5. Lepchenko will make you earn that win, and we can see here that Sam got shinier and shinier with perspiration as this match progressed. All that sweating and hard work earned her a 2nd round date with Serena Williams, which she sadly lost in TWO 7-9 tiebreaks. Heartbreaker for her and her fans.

Sometimes you need to stretch after a tough point…
…and sometimes you need to just lament over whatever the hell just happened to make you lose that point…
The battle finally paid off, and Sam took a breather up at net, waiting to shake hands.
Did we mention her freaking awesome shoulders? Love the swag in the stance there, too.
Normally so stoic on court, Sam busts out a cheerful smile in her post-match interview.
